An American railroad executive, who is actually the present chief of a clan, repurchases the heart of the clan's lands in the Western Highlands in a gallant attempt to install there a nucleus of the more distressed of his people, believing that only by practical revival of the clan's spirit can the Highlands be saved and so usher in a new dispensation in Gael - dom. His efforts and, of course, his romance, make this story.
